Stats on Visual Content Marketing ou Really Need to Know!For a recent blog post, HubSpot (with whom we are a certified agency partner) combed through a number of insightful reports on inbound marketing, content marketing, social media, and online behavior. As they did, they extracted and shared more than 40 statistics related to the use of visuals in content marketing.

Why does “visual content marketing” matter? There are many reasons. Perhaps the most obvious is that the amount of written content being produced is increasing exponentially, which is driving many consumers to ration their precious attention by getting their information through easily absorbed/digested images rather than through text.

Will you be working this year to make your content more visual? Here are a few statistics that I found particularly impactful from HubSpot’s post that you should consider before you answer that question!

  • 37% of marketers said visual marketing was the most important form of content for their business, second only to blogging (38%).  (Source)
  • 51% of B2B marketers prioritized creating visual content assets in 2016.  (Source)
  • Cisco projects that global internet traffic from videos will make up 80% of all internet traffic by 2019.   (Source)
  • 76.5% of marketers and small business owners in an Animoto survey who have used video marketing say it had a direct impact on their business.   (Source)
  • 4X as many consumers would prefer to watch a video about a product than read about it.   (Source)
  • Eye-tracking studies show internet readers pay close attention to information-carrying images. In fact, when the images are relevant, readers spend more time looking at the images than they do reading text on the page.   (Source)
  • People following directions with both text and illustrations do 323% better than people following directions without illustrations.   (Source)
  • Tweets with images receive 150% more retweets than tweets without images.   (Source)
